Cathy- For this one I did a pencil rough first. Unusual for me but the scene was just so complex I felt it necessary. You can see a photo of the sketch in progress on my Facebook page if you add me:

Then I ink the contours with a Uniball permanent ink pen. Shading is done with thin layers of diluted India Ink applied with a brush.

Love this kitchen! How do you start your drawing and pull it all together? Is your gray from using a water-soluble ink? Thanks, love your drawings
